Crane Load

We provide load-measuring transducers to measure load forces on the crane structure and if telemetry applications are required, we can provide the re-mote signaling, displays and alarms.
We have a very wide knowledge of load measurement for many most crane applications. The load pins are designed to replace existing pivot pins. Where necessary the load pins have to be strain gauged with two independent strain gauge bridges.

We are able to supply load pins with multi-axis load direction load pins that can be used to calculate the resultant force.
Dockside Cranes require both safety systems as well as weighing facility. We are able to supply the strain gauge load cells for both the safety system and the precision weighing application.

Strain Gauges

In the Oil and Gas industry we have assessed the most frequent uses for measuring physical properties such as strain, stress, load, pressure and torque by using strain gauges. The strain gauge can be incorporated within a transducer or be mounted onto the structure the measurement is required.

Although there are many forms of strain gauge the most adaptable is the foil strain gauge although we are finding that a strain transducer can be used for many applications without the need for the application to be carried out by a strain gauge technician. The strain gauge transducer is designed to measure extension in length in one direction and not be affected by the clamping force of the bolts.

Load cells and other transducers can be designed to customer requirements meeting special loading applications, housings and environmental protection. By having knowledge of the application special strain gauge transducers can be manufactured to meet the requirements of the application.

There are many more strain gauging requirements require now that deeper waters are being explored and equipment being exposed to harsher environments. There are a number of new requirements for anchor and hawser loading measurements for subsea applications that are being tackled. With the use of modern electronics and the advances in battery technology many more application are now possible to be solved.
